Perfect for the faint of heart, August 17, 2008
Submitted by CJJo from Naperville, IL

"My husband does not like hot peppers, I love them. With this pepper, we made salsa and Nachos that we could both eat. I can eat them right off the plant, but to feed my husband, I seeded them and just used the meat. We just grew 2 plants this year, will grow more next year. Perfect..."

WOW it's HOT, August 10, 2008
Submitted by Bamboo from Spring Valley, NY

"I grew these in a big container and they preformed well better than I thoght they would. It grows to be a big plant with tons and tons of HOT HOT peppers. Althogh I picked most of them when they were still green, they still beat any other hot pepper I've tried. It does take a while for them to turn red."

The Best Pepper there Is!!!, July 30, 2008
Submitted by BigFish from Maryland's Eastern Shore

"Great seed germination, fast growing sturdy plants. Large elongated fruits that are good sliced for salads, our favorite pickler ever. Crisp and Juicy flesh with thin skins for grilling. Freezes well in yellow, orange and red stages for stir fry's and fajitas. Very prolific with some plants having a dozen peppers at a time."

Beautiful and Oh, So Tasty!, July 14, 2008
Submitted by ChristyACB from Norfolk, Virginia

"Gorgeous radially symmetrical plant that looks fabulous in the garden and produces heavily for the table, this is tied for favorite in our household with the Godfather Pepper. Planted for the first time this year, I had 70% germination rate and survival past the first two leaflets, better than my Godfather or Bells. While these set fruit a bit later than some of the others, it produced suddenly and generously, with a high rate of blossom set. As for taste, I just can't say enough nice things about it. These are particularly delicious when brushed with olive oil, grilled to softness, sprinkled with course salt and eaten right away. None have lasted long enough to test their storage times!"

Spicy, March 24, 2008
Submitted by Danny

"Awesome yield and great tasting. I think this should be rated with more fire. Wow!!! Being from Southern Louisiana everyone loved the bite. Perfect plant, about 3-4 feet high, very productive whole season. Puchased 3 plants but only 1 survived. Had more than we could save, use, eat, and give away."

How to:
Chop up as many peppers as you like. Chop up as much garlic as you like. Add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Salt and pepper. Mix it all together. line a pan with aluminum foil and bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes. They are great in salads, tacos, meat....EVERYTHING!!!"

EASY! and TASTY!, January 30, 2008
Submitted by queendeej from Bonaire, GA

"I definitely recommend this for beginner container gardeners! It was too easy. I planted seeds outside in Mid May and by early July I had several pale green peppers that eventually changed to gold, then orange, then red. They were sweet when ripe and tasted delicious on everything-especially frozen cheese pizzas."

Delicious and prolific, November 22, 2007
Submitted by yrralluap from Stillwater, PA

"This pepper quickly became my all time favorite. Very productive. We eat them freshly picked, in salads, and my favorite, roasted and stuffed with cheese. They have very few seeds, so I just cut a small slit in the side and throw them on the grill for a few minutes until the skins are slightly wrinkled and charred. Then we either eat them like that or slip a strip of cheese into the slit and let it melt for a minute or so, then sprinkle with a dash of salt and serve hot.
The 8 plants we raised yielded hundreds of peppers well into the fall season and still had flowers on them when frost killed them in October."

Slow and steady won our hearts, October 27, 2007
Submitted by Tut3d from Ellicott City, MD

"Tried these as an alternative to regular sized peppers. Ordered a set of three plants, and placed in a little used corner of my patch. Plants set fruit right away, but consistently dropped them. Just about to give up on them, when late in the season, BOOM! Plants doubled in size, and I began taking fully ripe baby bells off 8-10 at a time, most even bigger than the photo! Stuffed them with some ground lamb and feta, paired with a fresh tomato and cucumber salad, some Cypriot white wine and fresh raspberries from my bushes, and friends and family seemed to spend more time at our house.. Hmm I wonder why? Try these little wonders, you will not regret it. I still have enough from three plants that I am going to pickle them."

A great find, October 23, 2007
Submitted by GardenMae from New Castle County

"These seeds grow quickly and produce strong plants. My garden is in a wind tunnel, but these plants withstood what the others could not. The peppers are absolutely delicious and really are hotter than other jalapenos. I plan to plant an entire raised bed of these next year so that there will always be ripe fruit."

""What a great pepper." Not really a hot pepper person, but have several friends that are, so I grow this pepper for them. They love the heat!!!!! Entered these beauties in our community fair and received first in "Hot Pepper Class-Round" and Best of Show in the vegetable division. This is a pepper I will plant every year."

Beautiful color, flavorful, and very prolific, October 8, 2007
Submitted by Jefferson

"Three plants produced a huge number of peppers and are still producing here in Maryland in October. They are the perfect size for making mini-stuffed peppers for appetizers and we used them in salads all summer. The plants did not get very tall, but rather spread out along the ground."

Our favorite--prolific and great flavor, October 8, 2007
Submitted by Jefferson

"Three plants have produced enough peppers for an entire year (and we cook a lot of spicy food). They seem to do well in the mid-Atlantic states. As has been pointed out, you can chose the heat level by watching the color. The flavor does have a mild citrus element to it. We freeze them in freezer bags (whole straight from the garden). We also freeze small containers with peppers chopped in the food processor (look out for the fumes!!). You can make a nice hoagie spread by chopping them and putting them into boiling vinegar. Our chile-loving friends line up for their share, too. These are not just hot--they have flavor. We bought these as plants from Burpee."

Best Peppers, September 30, 2007
Submitted by Helen from Philadelphia, PA

"I do my gardening in containers on my deck. I purchased the 3-plant set instead of seeds. Each plant produced many peppers. The production slowed down a bit during the extremely hot weather but quickly picked up when the temps became more bearable for plants, animals, and humans alike. Most peppers grew as described in the catalog - some grew a little curled but still very edible. The flavor of this pepper (and any homegrown produce) can't be beat, especially compared to the produce sitting in the grocery stores."

Baby, That's Hot!, September 30, 2007
Submitted by Helen from Philadelphia, PA

"I purchased the seeds. I prefer to buy the plants but Burpee only carries this product in seeds. I tried several other nurseries but their hot pepper plants sold out early. I was surprised how easy these were to grow. I let two seedlings grow to maturity. The two plants produced, and is still producing, much more fruit than my immediate family can use. Friends and family were happy about that. I will definitely grow these again next year."

Amazing overall!!, August 30, 2007
Submitted by gordylynn

"We cannot get over the size and taste of this pepper!! One pepper goes a long-g-g way and tastes so-o-o pleasant! We are even using it in our homemade spaghetti sauce and just love it! We are so sold on the Marconi pepper, as we are on other Burpee products that we have purchased. We are first time Indiana customers and will be now every year to come!!"
