Wonderful yield, low-maintenance, and no blossom end rot when another variety had that problem--thick clay soil in my area, constantly amending my soil. This cultivar has a very unique dieses resistance. The very smallish fruit is a bit tart, and acetic. Perfect for slicing in the south as well as canning. If you are looking for an 8 pound sweet slicing tomato, then keep looking!" |

I canned 34 quarts of sauce off 21 plants, which profited from being pruned severely into "trees", as my husband called them. Great tasting sauce, I haven't bought tomato sauce since June 08. If you only have room for one tomato, get this one -- tasty eating right out of the hand, too. Just be sure to stake it and prune it." |

Abundant fruit, crack resistant, free of disease and the sweetest grape tomatoes I've tasted. We gave away far more than we could eat, and got constant rave reviews on how sweet they were. Submitted by kari from DFW Area "I bought these in error and loved them. I live in North Texas and they not only survived the summer they survived a several nights 32-38 degrees in November. I planted them in my yard with mostly sun. I watered them twice a week during the summer, but instead of food I used my lawn clipping each around the base of the plants. I have 4 plants and used a bag a week of the clippings. This not only provided food but kept the ground moist. Note not a lot of fruit during summer but once it cooled in Sept they have tons and have not stopped and now it is Dec." |

Of the six varieties that I grew last year, the Heat Wave II tomatoes ripened first and continued to produce until the very end of the growing season. And they're easy to grow. But the texture, consistency and flavor were a pleasant surprise! These are beautiful tomatoes, very meaty with few seeds and a terrific flavor! Most definitely, this was my best producing tomato last year. I'll be expanding my garden in 2009 to include an entire row of Heat Wave II tomatoes. What we can't eat we'll sell at our local farmers market on the weekends. The folks that buy these tomatoes will be in for a real treat!" |

Submitted by NJTomatoman from Northern NJ "I've tried quite a few live plant varities offered by Burpee. All things considered, Super Tasty, along with Big Beef, is the best medium tomato for me. Super Tasty is a strong and prolific producer. The fruit is picture perfect and has outstanding taste. Given other reviews of Super Tasty, it's worth adding that any variety of tomato plant can contract a bout of blossom end rot. With proper watering, plenty of calcium in the fertilizer and staking the plants tightly, blossom end rot usually can be prevented. Nonetheless, too much rain at the wrong time, particularly accompanied by high winds, can cause blossom end rot anyway. That's just bad luck." |
