What a performance!, July 29, 2008
Submitted by dutchessgardens from Hyde Park, New York

"This was my first year growing this squash and it really impressed me. Tons of fruit (I only planted four plants and got at least 25 squash). The squash was also very large for a compact plant - mine averaged 10 to 12 inches. No problems with disease and very little maintenance in my garden."

Submitted by Anonymous Reviewer from Central Florida

"this is a great plant for any compact garden. I had a vegtable bed in my garden that was empty. there are 6 plants spread apart about 1 foot between each plant. If you want great squash, then go with burpee butterbush"

oExcellent small-garden choice, February 18, 2008
Submitted by Mater from Goleta, CA

"This little butternut is perfect for small families and small gardens. The fruit is very tasty and one squash is just the right serving size for two people. For me, each plant yields two to four fruits with deep orange flesh and small seed cavity. I can get five plants in a 10' row, so that's plenty for winter storage for us. We live in a cool coastal community 3 miles from the beach with a fair amount of summer fog and this Butternut has better resistance to mildew than the larger Waltham varieties. Highly recommended!"
